Old site, new insights

It has been two years since my last post. Time flies.

I think I might have changed to an extent beyond my own recognition.

There were many things I went through in these years. The past two years have recoloured my horizons, in shades of red, pink, blue and grey.

The exposure to the outside world gave me copious amount of insights – be it the power of love, sacrifice; or the grief and the regret; or injustice which could not be fixed to any extent.

People come, people go. People are born, and people passed on. Some moved on, some barely hanging on.

The paradox of myself – to ask people to move on and in the end I found myself as the one not moving on.

Was there a tinge of hopelessness, or a dose of regret beneath the façade of a resilient, positive me?

When people say time will heal all wounds, I wish to disagree. Perhaps the time is not long enough for me.

“King Of Anything”

Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)

Keep drinkin’ coffee
Stare me down across the table
While I look outside

So many things I’d say if only I were able
But I just keep quiet
And count the cars that pass by

You’ve got opinions, man
We’re all entitled to ’em
But I never asked

So let me thank you for your time
And try to not waste any more of mine
Get out of here fast

I hate to break it to you, babe
But I’m not drowning
There’s no one here to save

Who cares if you disagree?
You are not me
Who made you king of anything?
So you dare tell me who to be
Who died and made you king of anything?

Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)

You sound so innocent
All full of good intent
You swear you know best

But you expect me to
Jump up on board with you
And ride off into your delusional sunset

I’m not the one who’s lost
With no direction oh
But you’ll never see

You’re so busy makin’ maps
With my name on them in all caps
You’ve got the talkin’ down
Just not the listening

And who cares if you disagree?
You are not me
Who made you king of anything?
So you dare tell me who to be
Who died and made you king of anything?

All my life
I’ve tried
To make everybody happy while I
Just hurt
And hide
Waitin’ for someone to tell me it’s my turn
To decide.

Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)
Oh (oh oh oh)

Who cares if you disagree?
You are not me.
Who made you king of anything?
So you dare tell me who to be.
Who died and made you king of anything?

Who cares if you disagree?
You are not me.
Who made you king of anything?
So you dare tell me who to be.
Who died and made you king of anything?

Let me hold your crown, babe.
Oh ohhhhhhhhhhh
Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Crash And Burn

A classic by Savage Garden!

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please to tame your wild wild heart
I know you feel like the walls are closing in on you
It’s hard to find relief and people can be so cold
When darkness is upon your door and you feel like you can’t take anymoreLet me be the one you call
If you jump I’ll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You’re not alone

When you feel all alone
And a loyal friend is hard to find
You’re caught in a one way street
With the monsters in your head
When hopes and dreams are far away and
You feel like you can’t face the day

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I’ll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You’re not alone

‘Cause there has always been heartache and pain
And when it’s over you’ll breathe again
You’ll breathe again

When you feel all alone
And the world has turned its back on you
Give me a moment please
To tame your wild wild heart

Let me be the one you call
If you jump I’ll break your fall
Lift you up and fly away with you into the night
If you need to fall apart
I can mend a broken heart
If you need to crash then crash and burn
You’re not alone

Obsessed with….

This song.

“Everything Has Changed”
(Taylor Swift – duet with Ed Sheeran)

[Taylor Swift]
All I knew this morning when I woke
Is I know something now, know something now I didn’t before
And all I’ve seen since eighteen hours ago
Is green eyes and freckles in your smile
In the back of my mind making me feel like

[Taylor Swift]
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now

[Both]
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now
I just wanna know you, know you, know you

[Both]
‘Cause all I know is we said, “Hello.”
And your eyes look like coming home
All I know is a simple name
Everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
You’ll be mine and I’ll be yours
All I know since yesterday is everything has changed

[Ed Sheeran]
And all my walls stood tall painted blue
And I’ll take them down, take them down and open up the door for you

[Taylor Swift]
And all I feel in my stomach is butterflies
The beautiful kind, making up for lost time,
Taking flight, making me feel like

[Both]
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now
I just wanna know you, know you, know you

[Both]
‘Cause all I know is we said, “Hello.”
And your eyes look like coming home
All I know is a simple name
Everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
And you’ll be mine and I’ll be yours
All I know since yesterday is everything has changed

Come back and tell me why
I’m feeling like I’ve missed you all this time, oh, oh, oh.
And meet me there tonight
And let me know that it’s not all in my mind.

[Taylor Swift]
I just wanna know you better, know you better, know you better now
I just wanna know you, know you, know you

[Both]
All I know is we said, “Hello.”
And your eyes look like coming home
All I know is a simple name
Everything has changed
All I know is you held the door
You’ll be mine and I’ll be yours
All I know since yesterday is everything has changed

[Taylor Swift]
All I know is we said, “Hello.”
So dust off your highest hopes
All I know is pouring rain and everything has changed
All I know is a new found grace
All my days I’ll know your face
All I know since yesterday is everything has changed

Freedom, once again (short-lived)

There it goes, another semester, another checkpoint.

This semester is a very fruitful one, with placements to many pharmacies at Klang Valley, starting from government clinic, private medical centre and community pharmacy.

I love these placements, and love meeting people from the same profession with different responsbilities and perspectives. The placements are eye-opening and reflect the versatility of pharmacy profession.

People come and go. Footprints fade with time (and wind) but some words remain and the impact is not negligible, especially words that enlighten the journey of life. There are not many people out there who could comprehend the meaning of life, especially when it comes to working world. In a profession with high requirement of ethics like pharmacy, an occupation is not merely a job, but a life-saving, noble one.

Hence, no regrets on doing pharmacy, and no one doing pharmacy should be regretful due to dispensing rights’ issues. We can do more than what we are doing now!
